Tuesday Jan. 17th – General Meeting: ‘Grafting Camellias for that hard to propagate reticulate that you must have’. Location: Garden Center, 6:30pm for social, 7:00 pm program.
Saturday Jan. 21st – Pensacola Camellia Club will be at the Japanese New Year Celebration at Wright Place, 80 E. Wright Street. This is an indoor event for us to educate the public about Camellias and sell plants. Set-up is at 11am, it opens to the public at noon & performances finished by 3:30pm. There is a $10 admission fee to this event.
Saturday Jan 28th – Pensacola Camellia Club at Palafox Market selling camellias and promoting upcoming events. If you can help between 8:30am -2:00pm please contact Louise at 850-780-0410. Please bring a chair, dress for the weather and we will greet the shoppers with camellias and smiles!
Friday Feb 3rd – Set up for Community Novice Show at the Downtown Library located at 239 N. Spring St., Pensacola, Florida 32502 starting at 3:00 pm – 4:00pm.
Saturday Feb 4th – Pensacola Camellia Club to host Community Novice Show and Plant Sale at the Downtown Library located at 239N. Spring St., Pensacola, Florida 32502. Thursday Feb 9th – ‘Salute to the Winter Rose, Camellias’ at V. Paul’s – 4:30 pm – 6 pm. Doors open at 4 pm and the event starts at 4:30 pm. All gardeners & camellia lovers, come join us for a conversation about the care of camellias. Happy Hour prices on wine to salute the winter rose.
Tuesday Feb. 21st – General Meeting: Jane Benson will present “Who Were These Pensacola Camellias Name After”. A historical look into past member’s camellias that are registered with the American Camellia Society. Location: Garden Center, 6:30pm for social, 7:00 pm program.
Saturday Feb. 25th – UWF Camellia Garden Work Day starting at 10:00am to 12:00am. We will be doing any necessary clean up before the garden tours. Please bring your gloves and water bottles.
Sunday Feb. 26th – Pensacola Camellia Club will welcome the public to our UWF Camellia Garden, provide air layering and pruning demonstrations, and have plants available for sale starting at Noon to 4:00 pm. Tuesday Mar. 21st – Award Banquet at V. Paul’s Italian Ristorante, 29 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida. The 2023-2024 Officers and Board Members will be sworn in, T. Morris Scholarship Award, and ‘Person of The Year’ to be announced, along with Special Camellia plants for auction. Cash bar will open at 5:30pm with Happy Hour prices all night on alcohol, wine, and beer, followed by dinner at 6:30pm. More information will be in the February newsletter.
Saturday Apr. 8th – Air layering at UWF Camellia Garden starting at 9:00am to Noon. Greg Taylor will bring the supplies needed for air layering, just show and help. Bring your water bottles and gloves.

Saturday Apr. 22nd – UWF Camellia Garden Work Day starting at 9:00am to 12:00pm. If you have wondered how to reduce large camellia plants, John Davy will lead a plant reduction demonstration. We will have members on hand to explain air layers and inside pruning of plants before we all get to work at the garden. Come watch and learn so you can improve your own yard with these methods.
