Tuesday Aug. 15th – To kick off the new season, we will have a “Welcome Back Picnic” at the Garden Center, 1850 N. 9th Avenue, Pensacola Florida. Please call Louise at 850-780-0410 and let her know if you are coming so we have a head count for our meal. Bring a dessert or drink item of your choice to share with members. Social is at 6pm, dinner buffet at 6:30pm.
Tuesday Sept. 19th – General Meeting – Program, Louise Seitz to present, “Plant Tags & Camellia Forms meets Bingo, What?”. Location: Garden Center, 1850 N. 9th Ave, Pensacola. Feel free to bring a treat to share for social at 6:30pm, program at 7:00pm.
Saturday Sept. 30th – UWF Camellia Garden Work Day starting at 9am. We will be doing general cleaning up of the garden. Please bring your gloves and water bottles.

Saturday Oct. 14th – Pensacola Camellia Club at Navy Point Fall Arts and Crafts Fair, selling camellias and promoting upcoming club events. The fair is at Triangle Park located at 315 Sunset Avenue, Pensacola. If you can help between 8:30am – 3pm please call Louise at 850-780-0410 so we know who will be helping. Please bring a chair, dress for the weather and we will greet shoppers with camellias and smiles!
Tuesday Oct. 17th – General Meeting – Program: Kip from Flowerwood Plant Development Services will present, October Magic® series. This will include a sneak preview of the summer and fall blooming Camellia Azalea Hybrids. Come before 7pm if you are a newer member for a demo on potting air-layers and gibbing. You will need to ‘gib’ 7 weeks prior to our show date (1st application Oct 21st) to have your camellias ready to produce blooms for our December 9th show. Location: Garden Center, 1850 N. 9th Ave, Pensacola, 6:30pm for social, 7:00 pm program.
Saturday Oct. 21st – ALL HANDS NEEDED! This is a very BIG and Important Work Day at the Shade House starting at 9:00am. We will be potting our harvested air layers, spraying camellias, fertilizing, and general clean up. Please bring your gloves and water bottles.

Thursday Nov. 9th – Pensacola Camellia Club is included in UWF’s Leisure Learning Fall Programs. Skip Vogelsang will present “Growing Camellias 101”, at the Florida Public Archaeology Network, located at 207 E. Main St. Pensacola, Fl 32501 (by Fish House) starting at 10:00am. Saturday Dec. 9th – Pensacola Camellia Club 85th Annual Camellia Show Location: Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio along with Plant Sales. Exhibitors start time is 7:00am – 10:00am; Judging begins at 10:30am – 1:00pm, Open to the Public to enjoy all of the blooms 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Plant sales 9-4.

Wednesday Jan. 31st – ‘Salute to the Winter Rose, Camellias’ at V. Paul’s – 4:00 pm. All gardeners & camellia lovers, come join us from 4:30- 6pm for a conversation about the care of camellias. Happy Hour prices on wine to salute the winter rose.
Friday Feb 2nd – Set up for Community Novice Show at the downtown Public Library on Spring Street starting at 3:00 pm – 4:00pm.
Saturday Feb 3rd – Pensacola Camellia Club to host Community Novice Show and Plant Sale at the Downtown Library located at 239N. Spring St., Pensacola, Florida 32502. Everyone is invited to bring their camellia blooms to compete for prizes in various categories starting at 9:00am. Tuesday Mar. 19th – Award Banquet at V. Paul’s Italian Ristorante. The 2024-2025 Officers and Board Members will be sworn in, T. Morris Scholarship Award, and ‘Person of The Year’ to be announced, along with Special Camellias for Auction. Cash bar will open at 5:30pm with Happy Hour prices all night on alcohol, wine, and beer, followed by dinner at 6:30pm. More information will be in the February newsletter.

Saturday Apr. 20th – UWF Camellia Garden Work Day starting at 9:00am to 12:00pm. If you have wondered how to reduce large camellia plants, John Davy will lead a plant reduction demonstration. We will have members on hand to explain air layers and inside pruning of plants before we all get to work at the garden. Come watch and learn so you can improve your own yard with these methods.
